Books on Change and
Transition
| Leading Change by John P Kotter
In this book Kotter brings a lifetime of experience and wisdom
to the question of why the changes needed to implement strategy
in organisations so often fail. He identifies the eight mistakes
organisations make as: allowing too much complacency, failing to
create a sufficiently powerful guiding coalition, underestimating
the power of vision, undercommunicating the vision, permitting obstacles
to block the new vision, failing to create short-term wins, declaring
victory too soon and neglecting to anchor changes firmly in the
corporate culture. Kotter goes on to develop an insightful model
for successful change and the forces which drive it. Well worth
