Help us improve

Is there anything on this site which doesn't work or which you think could be improved? Please help us to get better.
Email us
to give us feedback about what works well, or not so well, for you, or to make a suggestion or report any problems you encounter.

PS. One thing you may notice is that we use Australian English spelling. So we're sorry if you are from another part of the world where words like colour and organisation look strange to you, but we hope you can still understand us, despite the different spelling.

Books worth buying

Participants in my seminars often ask for details of some of the books I refer to during my presentations so, as promised, here are just a few of my favourites. My library has been built up over many years with books collected from all parts of the world. So they may not all be currently in print in your region.

I've tried to provide a link for you to order the book either from Amazon.com, (although we have no say over whether the book is actually in stock at Amazon) or elsewhere. You will also find your local new and used bookstores very helpful if you smile at them (and give them the ISBN which is the number included in each book's link).

I hope you enjoy all the books I've selected on leadership, strategy, change, crises and communication. They are not listed in any particular order in the various sections and the categories overlap somewhat, so have a look at all of them. Each one is highly recommended and a valued part of my own professional library.

If you have suggestions for books I should add to any of these categories please let me know.

Leadership is an Art by Max DePree

Max DePree offers a simple, humanitarian approach to leadership which values diversity in the workplace and makes a leader responsible not just for the health of a company's financial assets, but for its ethics. Advocating management through persuasion, and the exercise of democratic participation rather than concentrated power, he favors covenantal relationships with employees that rest on shared purpose, dignity and choice. A quick read, but filled with powerful and challenging ideas.
